What's new?
What's new?
The Copperzilla 2.0 consists of 210 g of copper with two heat pipes and a 60 mm fan.
We developed the cooler from the ground up, specifically for the Bitaxe Gamma. It is not a repurposed standard part. It is designed for three goals: more stability, more overclocking headroom and more hashrate.
Improved Performance
Improved Performance
The copper heatsink absorbs the heat from the chip and dissipates it via the two heat pipes and the 60 mm fan. This lets you reach performance levels that are not possible with the standard cooler.
You have two options for running your Bitaxe with the Copperzilla 2.0:
- Silent Mode: 750 MHz / 1200 mV, approx. 1.5 TH/s. The fan runs at minimum speed and is very quiet. That is about 40 % more hashrate than the 1.07 TH/s many Bitaxe Gamma units run at with default settings.
- Performance Mode: 1000 MHz / 1300 mV, approx. 2 TH/s from a single Bitaxe.
As always with overclocking: running the chip beyond the default values is at your own risk (see Note on Cooling and Warranty).
Compatibility
Compatibility
The Copperzilla 2.0 was developed exclusively for the Bitaxe Gamma.
Not compatible with:
- older Bitaxe models
- Nerdaxe
- the original Solomining Bitaxe bracket (the one with the Solomining lettering on top)
Due to its larger size, the cooler does not fit into the old bracket. Our new, compatible bracket is available separately in the shop.
Power Supply Note
Power Supply Note
Overclocking increases power consumption. Many Bitaxe miners ship with a 30 watt power supply (5 V / 6 A). This is not enough to use the full potential of the Copperzilla 2.0.
As a rule, power supplies should not run above 80 % of their rated power in continuous operation. For the higher settings we therefore recommend a stronger power supply, which you can also find in our shop.
Easy Setup
Easy Setup
- Installation in a few minutes
- Mounting is done via a backplate with screw connection. This is significantly more stable than plastic push pins.
- Everything you need for installation is in the package.
- Afterwards, just adjust the settings in AxeOS.

Note on Cooling and Warranty
Note on Cooling and Warranty
Overclocking: At your own risk! Damage caused by operating the device beyond the frequency and voltage range provided in the firmware (e.g. with custom or modified firmware) is not a defect of the device and is not covered by the legal guarantee.
Regular Care and Maintenance: The Bitaxe is a high-performance miner and needs regular dusting. You should also replace the thermal paste at regular intervals; we recommend replacing it after about 6 months. After 12 to 18 months at the latest, it is necessary.
Conclusion
Conclusion
Upgrade, not a toy
The Copperzilla 2.0 is an upgrade kit for miners who want to overclock. If you simply want to run your Bitaxe, you can stay with the standard cooler. If you want to get more out of the ASIC chip, this is the right tool.
Better cooling means:
- more stable clock rates
- lower chip temperatures
- more room for overclocking
In the end, that means more hashrate per device.
